RECLASS TO 25B or 17C?

I am PFC Price looking for information on reclassing to either a 25B or 17C however I currently have no certs like A+ etc. I have found I hate my current mos with a passion(92G) and wonder if their is anyway I can RECLASS or if I will have to wait till re-enlisting date. Any information is helpful. Thanks

25B handy with computers and stuff OR 17c can do complex -math patterns in your head. Choose wisely.

Unfortunately, you will have to wait until you enter your reenlistment window, 15 months from your ETS, in order to reclass. Don't worry, it'll go by very fast. Get with your supervisor and your unit's Career Counselor for more information.

If you qualify for both, 17C is the horse that's running right now, although those are probably coming from 25B/N land.

Think about what you want long term and work towards that. It may require working in your current job for a while. Run towards something, not away. I have Reclassed a lot of people who just wanted out of their current MOS and they came to find they didn't love their new MOS any better.
You can find information about 17C on their website but with no prior experience you might not be very competitive. Realistically, you probably have no chance.
If you are interested in IT you should work on your degree while you're in the Army. Take advantage of the fact you're getting a full time job with excellent benefits that pays TA.

Definitely 17C...25B is more general and basic, but if you have no background experience, might wanna check out the coursework for 25B to see if you do/can understand it as it is more of a basis for 17c

From My experience in the Army Reserve in and out of deployment.
25B = Mostly a Help Desk Technician /Server Administrator.
25U = Technical Subject Matter Expert in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Communication equipment and power distributions.
17C = Reading/ciphering net scan Logs and packet captures for vulnerabilities. Also a lot of coding with full or no rights/permissions.
25D = Certification and Accreditation for IT equipment and software. Also a lot of coding with almost no rights/permissions.
17C and 25D is only a hear say for me, but I have civilian equivalent experience for those 2 MOS's and it could get tedious and feel not-so-fruitful at times.
All above MOS's have their ups and downs, but choose wisely, at the end of the day, what is the most fun and rewording for you is the best choice. They will train you and can get you certified, but you need to be passionate about the job is what will get you through the day.
One good perk for 17C and 25D is you have greater chance to get Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance, which is highly sought after.

Most people these days are going 17C. It’s great for getting your certifications and sets you up really on the civilian side because of those
