Reclass to 68C

I know from my research that its a rather new MOS and it's difficult to find any detailed information on. Any information would be helpful and much appreciated.

What is the job? It's new enough that I can't find any good info. I can tell it is in the Medical Field.

We have almost 150 members on RallyPoint with that current MOS. One thing to do is just search for "68C" in the upper right corner and ask to connect with a few of them. I'm sure they would be willing to help.

If you search out information on 68WM6 you might find more information about it, that is what it was called up until last year. Not much has changed yet except the name. The big difference right now is that 68C students no longer go through the Medic/68W training prior to attending the course. Also, previously active duty SMs had to be a 68W for a year prior to attending the course. I don't believe that is the case any longer. If you are interested in the course you would do a 4187 requesting reclassification to the new MOS...and then you go from there. It's a tough and LONG course. Phase 1 is 11 weeks at Fort Sam and then Phase 2 is 44 weeks, held at 5 different locations in the US. If you have a family they are able to join you at your phase 2 location. At the end of the course you will sit for the Texas LVN licensing test (NCLEX), and you must pass this exam to be awarded the MOS. So I just received my orders for this Re-class, and I am to report to "Brooke Army Medical Center Student Company (W2DN1C). However, I can't find any information to which staff duty or anywhere that I am supposed to specifically report to. Any help??

Hopefully this is my last question regarding this discussion before I start class.

Can anyone recommend a Packing List, and a Prohibited Items list for this school? Also is there anything that I can have for Phase II that I would be able to store somewhere before then?

I have been looking into reclassing and was told that my family would be moved as well due to the length of the ait.
I am pregnant currently and plan to breastfeed. I see the 11wks of phase 1 as quite some time away from my child who may be in an entire other state from me. Is there someone I can talk with to get better clarity on this?
