Reclassing in the National guard but signed for a bonus?

I am very unhappy with my current MOS, It was completely different from what I had imagined.
It is my fault for not doing my do dilly and finding an MOS that I would've enjoyed in the first place.
But, my question is, I have enlisted in the NG, but for a 20K (6 year) contract. I've been in almost 3 years and the contract payment comes in 10k enlisted, 5K at 3rd year, 5k at end of contract. Can I request to reclass at the end of my 3rd year without having to pay back the 10K that I have already served?

You can talk to S1 and Retention NCO but if you are signed into a bonus it definitely complicates things. If the payments are delayed you might get lucky but it depends on a lot of factors. Talk to your chain but you might be stuck till your Re-enlistment window opens up

The Guard is a little more lenient about reclass before your reenlistment window.
However, if you reclass at 3 years, after receiving a $10K and $5K payment, you will have fulfilled 50% of the bonus requirement, but you would have received 75% of the bonus payments.
Bonuses are prorated, which means if you only served 50% of the requirement, the Army only owed you 50% of the bonus, and they'll want that other 25% back, ($5K) at the full, pre-tax amount.

Likely have to repay anything above the commitment period you have met when you transition.

If you signed a 6 year contract, you can’t re-enlist to reclass until 16 months from your contracts end. Sure you can request it, but the chances of reclassing outside of your window are slim. Additionally, if you do reclass, you will pay back the bonus as it was tied to you completing the 6 years as a 91B
