You'll do common core first (death by PowerPoint and open book tests, and old equipment that will most likely not work), and then your career tract (tac or strat, which depends on your next assignment). You will be mixed with IET Soldiers during class and if your the only MOS-T you will be class leader. Most of the MOS-I's (mosey's) will be true geeks. I lived off post with my family, but I know the barracks were pretty bad. Augusta is what you make of it, I lived over in South Carolina which is north Augusta. The river walk is nice. Just do your best to stay out of trouble, have a lot of self discipline. Dont mess with mosi's. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I trained on Phoenix terminals, the 85 and 95 terminals, never saw one. used the JNN system ONLY during the remainder of my time, which when I went into AIT it was tacked on last minute for my class and the classes that followed us. We were set to PCS and got told on moving day to unpack they were adding the JNN classes in. My recruiter also happens to be 25S. He said when in school, be in the top and try and get Strategic, not Tactical. No matter how cool "tactical" sounds, you will learn more at a strategic location. The duty is as different as the army is different you can have a fixed station job and work shifts or you could be embedded with a tactical team. You can have a good life or a wild ride. If you are going to Ft Gordon you would be going to school. You need basis electronics, radio transmission theory and practice, Micro wave, basis and advanced math skills, you need to know basis logic to microprocessors. You will need to read and follow procedures, and SOPs.

Do well in class and you have a chance to choose your duty station (Hawaii, Germany, New Jersey) fixed station. Do poorly and get stuck in a tactical unit.

I was a 26Y for over 10 years they changed the number but not the functions SP6 Rick Gallaher Thu, 29 Dec 2016 15:15:56 -0500 2016-12-29T15:15:56-05:00 Response by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 22 at 2018 11:07 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/reclassing-to-25s-can-anyone-give-guidance-re-coursework-what-to-expect-as-mos-t-living-conditions-wknds-etc?n=3381816&urlhash=3381816

Being here in FT Gordon as an MOS-I I can tell you about classes. Alpha Annex packs alot of information in about basic theory of transistors, caps and other detailed information that you will most likely not use. From my battles in Delta Annex, they say it goes by really slow due to the fact that only a certain amount of people can do labs at once. In class as an MOS-T it seems you are treated with just about the same respect as us, being quite alot. I'm being taught by an ET1(Navy) so be prepared to learn about the Navy as well. Overall the attitude of those in this MOS is either extra hooah or bored out of your mind. If you enjoy learning via power point 80% and hands on 20%, you will like it here. Tobyhanna was pretty relaxed. Single rooms with a shared bath, just you and one neighbor. No dfac, you'll eat out alot, no organized pt, no drinking, weekends off, small px, decent commissary. Classes were 7 am to 4pm. They issued a laptop, tests were open book, but the equipment was old 85s, 93s, Phoenix, and very little STT.
