Close to camp or further away. If you have kids would really push to move on base housing at camp walker. If you never been to Korea all apartments will be nice to you only real issue is neighbors cause their culture is VERY different and that will be an adjustment in itself. Unfortunately there really isn’t a straight answer because it changes often. You don’t have to luxury if just selecting any place you like off post. If it’s on the no rent list, you won’t receiver the housing allowance to help assist with the rent. You have to use the recommendation list that housing have for which realtors are safe for Americans to use. I would highly recommend living on post especially if you’re not dual military, it’ll help your wife to not feel isolated if you’re in an area where there aren’t many Americans. I wish you the best on your tour...Good Luck SFC Private RallyPoint Member Fri, 11 May 2018 21:51:04 -0400 2018-05-11T21:51:04-04:00 Response by CPT Private RallyPoint Member made May 11 at 2018 10:55 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/recommendations-on-nice-apartments-in-daegu?n=3620829&urlhash=3620829

Attached is the POC for a realtor I recommend. She was ours before we moved to Camp Humphreys. We lived in a place called Norwegian Morning K Park which is about 4km from Gate 6 of Camp Walker heading towards the highway in Daegu. You lose all your BAH if you live on post.
2. The housing at Camo George is crap compared to the nice apts in Daegu.
3. You don't get BAH to live off post but you get a rent limit. You be allowed to rent a place up to a certain limit. Once you have your place. Let's say you get a place for 1500. The Army will then give you that amount every month to pay the rent.
4. You do get 850 Approximately for utilities. Here is the best. If you don't use it all, you get to keep the excess. That right, I made bank by suffering through the winter and summer but I saved about 500 bucks a month.
5. Housing will also give you a washer and dryer, dining table, couch, fridge, book case, desk as week in your off post apt.
6. And they will bus your child in to camp George for school as well. They will cover most of your electric bill. Which is important because of the high cost of energy in Korea.
