RECORDS REVIEW: FY14 SFC Board

For those interested, I am available to review active Army SSG records for the upcoming FY14 AC SFC board for the next seven (7) days (through 19 December). Note:  Ensure you've completed SSD-3 and ALC. If you are interested in getting your records reviewed, email the following documents to [login to see] : - DA Photo - ERB - Last 3 NCOERs I will provide feedback, even if everything is 'perfect'. I have over 10 years experience as a Human Resources Specialist (PMOS 42A) and another 10 years experience as an Army Career Counselor (PMOS 79S).  I've reviewed ERBs/records on a near-daily basis. Why do I think I'm qualified to review records? I was (and still am) thoroughly mentored and I was (and am still) provided with an abundance of career guidance through many sources and I was selected in my first year of eligibility (secondary zone) for SFC, MSG and SGM (not blowing my own horn and I'm not saying I'm even remotely better than anyone else).  I was also fortunate enough to review records for the past 10 years for Soldiers considering different career options and NCOs being considered for promotion. How do I have the time? I am currently attending the US Army Sergeants Major Academy during the day and have taken a hiatus from college classes (I have 10+ years to complete my master's degree)...instead of wasting my time 'hanging out', I'll continue to provide counsel and mentorship to our Soldiers/NCOs.  It will also keep my mind sharp for my next assignment after the Sergeants Major Academy.

GREAT IDEA! i made SFC one my first look in the secondary zone because I had someone like yourself that took the time to help me fix my records. When getting looked at for MSG I never had anyone really sit down with me and help me so I worked on them myself thinking everything was always good, I even took new photos every year but evidently what I was doing was not working because I never got promoted in ten years as a SFC and I feel like a shit bird. Again great idea and everyone should take advantage of this great american

If you are a young SSG or SFC out there and you do not take advantage of a Senior NCO looking over your records prior to validating, you are not doing all that you can to ensure success. A second set of eyes is always a good idea...especially when those eyes come from someone with a lot of experience with reviewing records, evaluations, etc. Take advantage of the offer!!!

MSG,
I would like you to review my records if possible. I wish I had this in my unit now but I don't and to tell you the truth it's sad. I was guided at my last unit by my CSM and he helped me as best as he could, He was surprised I got looked over on the 2012 and 2013 board. I did get looked over once again and I'm still unsure why. I need your help.

Are you still doing a review of Active Duty SSG's records, I've had 4 board looks for SFC with no success my last chain of command was a joke and didnt help whatsoever. I know I have a few more months until the SFC Board but I want to always seek self improvement.

Hello SGM, I am looking for some guidance and assistance. I am on my 4 look for SFC this year and would like for you to look at my files if possible. I am currently in a Platoon Sergeant position (92A40). The last couple of years I have be working outside my MOS at a 40 level as a 92Y. I am need of some guidance to what I am doing wrong and what are my chances on making it this year.
