SN Kristian Tinkler 5313287

I was Honorably discharged due to separation code JFT (physical standards). The only problem I had was my wife's car was repo'd and my name was on the papers for it, thus causing me to seek advice from my Chief as to what to do in that situation.I had recently purchased a new truck because mine finally kicked the bucket due to flooding at the time, and my Chief seemed a bit jealous about it. I was answered with a swift DRB and threat of Captain's Mast if i didnt take the truck back to the dealership and find something "more in my paygrade". The only reason I bought a new 4 door truck was because my wife had just given birth to our son, so that we could have a reliable source of transportation. Due to this I was immediately unable to take my exam to try for PO3 and my security clearances were revoked. This meant I could no longer work in my shop or with my equipment, and my Chief sent me to work with the engineers. Joke is on him though, they all loved having me down there and the GSMC even told that to my Chief numerous times. All in all I think my Chief pushed an agenda to have me unable to reeinlist.

Any thoughts? Reenlisment with an RE-4 code. Is it possible if the code can be upgraded? 2019-12-06T07:40:20-05:00 SN Kristian Tinkler 5313287

I was Honorably discharged due to separation code JFT (physical standards). Failure to pay bills? Cause that is a legit reason. Revocation of a security clearance due to financial problems is pretty standard too. If you cannot maintain a clearance for your job you can't do your job. I hope it works out. Look, it takes the chain of Command, some time and paper trail to put anyone out, so don't whine about the Chief, cause he didn't do it on his own, and you must have had a pretty convincing paper trail for the CoC. 2. The services have not to my knowledge re-enlisted anyone with a RE4, so that just leaves you trying to get an upgrade to get a waiver. A real hairy problem. Contact nearest recruiter, and the VFW/AmLegion/DAV for advocate help with the appeal. Your problem was physical standards, so why the smokescreen? You can search on RE4 and find other posts, but RallyPoint is not where you will find an answer. Go talk to a Recruiter. It also sounds like you have a bit of a chip on your shoulder or there is more to this story.

Therefore, if you still have a military service obligation, then go talk to a recruiter at a reserve unit and be prepared. You're going to need to meet standards before any waiver might be entertained. The reserve recruiter, however, has the tools to pull you from the inactive reserve.

It will be the same drill if you go to an active duty recruiter; with more obstacles to climb through. I had a RE-4 and was able to return to active duty. It took about 6 months of working with one of the best recruiters I’ve ever met.

It’s very much a case by case type thing. The determination of your recruiter, the current state of prior service business rules and you history of service all have a huge bearing on how it will turn out.

Like many people have said, contact a recruiter. If they are not willing to work with you or they stall you, don’t be afraid to contact a different recruiter. I had to go to 3 different recruiters to find one that was willing to work with me. It is a lot of work for them so don’t except anything quick. Also, not sure how the Navy works but I was in and now am currently in the Army. Good luck! You were discharged for failure to meet the physical standards. That would result in an RE-3.

Now we take a look at your financial decisions.

One of the 8 adjudicative guidelines is financial indebtedness. Regardless on who’s name was on the car loan, you have an obligation to pay to ensure the car loan does not go delinquent. Your name was on it hence you are responsible for it. Then you took out a loan for a new 4 door truck which I would assume cost you over 40-50k. This on top of the repo, resulted in your loss of clearance eligibility.

So to answer your question, no, you cannot rejoin, nor does the military need a financially irresponsible sm Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 7 at 2019 4:53 PM 2019-12-07T16:53:37-05:00 2019-12-07T16:53:37-05:00 SN Kristi Kalis 5372074

If you failed physical standards, why are you moaning about the Chief?
