I went from fort hood texas.. elevation about 400 ft. To fort Carson which is about 6,000 ft... Lol I thought I was gonna die! But all in all, you are a soldier. A soldier should be able to pass a pt test on any given day. My main worry for you, would be if it's going to be the new PT test that they have you take and train on. As long as I wasn't sick or injured, I'd be mortified if I could not put out a 1st Class APFT or Marine Corps PFT. In units I commanded, once a month we did the Marine Corp PFT as a warm up, before regular "grab-ass" PT. Anyone who failed the monthly PFT, unless they had a medical chit, was automatically required to do remedial PT six days a week, after normal working hours, until they passed the unit's regularly scheduled PFT for the record.

I really do not understand the angst over the APFT. Please explain to me how any combat unit, and particularly combat medics within that unit should NOT consider a 1st class APFT a LIGHT PT day.
