SF group isn’t a special duty assignment, it’s a normal duty assignment that anyone can be assigned to if they meet the prerequisites. The requirements are 100 GT, Airborne, Secret clearance and US citizen. The GT and Airborne are waiverable, the clearance and citizenship are not.
