Since then I've gotten a civilian rotorcraft pilot license and am working slowly on a commercial license. I plan on staying in the Reserves and taking up helicopters as a civilian career. I've talked with 2 pilots in RC Aviation as well and they were a wealth of knowledge. Unfortunately they can't help much with the practical side of accomplishing what I want to do.<br /><br />Does anyone have experience with RC officers transfer to AV? I've spoken to a recruiter about it but he has been little/no help. I know generally what needs to be done but I also know I need a recruiter to schedule things like my flight physical and SIFT, those are the main things holding me back.Reserve Ordnance Officer/Civilian Pilot transfer to Aviation2014-07-02T23:12:03-04:001LT Private RallyPoint Member169708<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>During my BOLC phase I caught the aviation bug. I would complete those and then schedule an appointment with a local flight surgeon to review the documents. A local MEDEVAC unit would be a great place to find someone with AERO access (to input the data). It is a bit of a tedious process, but where there is a will there is a way. PM if you run into snags.Response by LTC Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 3 at 2014 8:56 AM2014-07-03T08:56:39-04:002014-07-03T08:56:39-04:00CW4 Keith Dolliver421306<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Have you looked into switching over to Warrant Officer? I'm not sure how it works on the RC side, but I know a number of AD officers that became Warrant Officers so they could fly because they were not able to do a branch transfer as an regular commissioned officer.Response by CW4 Keith Dolliver made Jan 16 at 2015 11:51 PM2015-01-16T23:51:19-05:002015-01-16T23:51:19-05:00Maj Private RallyPoint Member5842780<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>It’s been five years; how did this turn out for you?Response by Maj Private RallyPoint Member made May 2 at 2020 4:22 PM2020-05-02T16:22:42-04:002020-05-02T16:22:42-04:002014-07-02T23:12:03-04:00
