Yes I served on these ships and now become aware some 20 years later the IG investigated us for good reason and well lets just say my outcome is now understood.

But I want to learn and turn the page.

PO3 Aaron Hassay What are you needing or looking for? I couldn't find these reports. I worked at ATG and served on an FFG, would like to help, just not sure what you are looking for....

LT McInnis,

Let me know if these links work.

These are a few reports of the same FFGs I talk of, one from an XO and 2 from the IG concerning the NRF FFG, and an overarching report at USNI from Admirals concerning basically the same situation as it expanded to more ships, in variations, fleet-wide and its Merciful End.

This NRF FFG was an early adopter of the minimum/optimal manning situation now discussed as coming to a merciful end by Admirals reporting at USNI.

https://blog.usni.org/posts/2011/01/27/a-merciful-end-to-optimal-manning

No one discusses what might happen to some junior enlisted in such an operational parameters limitations expectations conditions etc.

Please review and respond.

I believe your FFG and ATG experience will help me get a grip on this.

My life is better understood through these reports, and how things turned out.

I will explain later.

Best

PO3 Aaron Hassay I still don't understand what you are looking for, other than you will explain more later. That is an unfair presumption of people's time, who want to help. I've got links to 100 pages of stuff, and not sure what you are wanting.

If your argument or issue, is minimum or Optimal manning, you are preaching to the choir. I was on a DDG that is prescribed 375 sailors and officers. We were told to cut 40% of the crew yet, still do the same job. Did 3 high tempo deployments back to back to back with many less people then we needed. It sucked, we did it. Back when I was a young BM3, we had 12 sailors in a division of 32 depart the morning of deployment with no replacements (apparently they got violently seasick). The optimal manning problem is still occurring when you look at the Fitzgerald accident that killed sailors (Optimal manning and lack of training was serious contributing factor). My point in this is that each generation has the same issues, and it is because we never have enough sailors, yet still have to cover 70% of the globe.

If you have something specific you want me to look at, and a specific question or concern, I will be more than happy to look at it.

LT McInnis,

Thanks for the share.
Obviously you are in the know.

Please review this. I am not sure if I shared it. I am connecting it all now to these reports I am finding about the command I had that the IG said had systemic weakness in training and administration on the FFG.

I was sent back to the ship with no medical.
I never ran even when I was violently scared sick.
I could use support putting these things together.

Respectfully,
AH

PO3 Aaron Hassay - Man - I want to help, but I still don't understand what you are looking for. What is your end goal? The 1st documents were about training on SELRES FFG's, now you send an IG report that you were denied enlistment in the Army. Are you trying to upgrade a disability or what? I just can't help you without much more clear explanation of what you need. FWIW, if it is VA disability that you are looking at, I am no expert and really have no experience.
