1100 CPTs will be getting their walking papers, some of them Company Commanders in Afghanistan...
Business as usual or bad leadership?

Downsizing the force via troops in combat zones?

I just came across this article and found it interesting. I would think that they would stray away from those that are deployed so as to not disrupt combat operations. What are your thoughts?

To be honest, I see both sides of this coin. From the cold personnel/logistics side, this has to happen. Congress has gutted the military budget and we (as a military) are forced to draw some hard lines in the sand when it comes to budget decisions. We have a hard deadline to reach a certain personnel level and this is one of the ways we are going to get there.
From the human side, this is just way wrong. I can't imagine being told while in a war zone tHat when I'm done, I'm out. You just sucked all my motivation out. If I wasn't strong in my faith, I would turn into a fobbit and just sit around at the MWR surfing for a job! I know it has to be done and the sooner they Soldier knows the more prepared they can be for the future, but come on!
