Reveille, chow call, colors and taps. Bases are getting away from the tradition because of complaints from families that live on base. Thats like saying the aircraft and artillery need silencers as well.<br />Short story here. I was the unit commander of a Young Marines unit. We went on an encampment with the regiment, maybe 6-7 units in all. We happen to have a Young Marine that knew most of the bugle calls. So at 0600 we had him blow reveille. As the kids were getting ready I noticed an elderly couple outside their trailer watching them. I went over to apologize to them for waking them. The gentleman was almost in tears. He said it had been so long since he heard reveille blown. He talked a bit about his time in the Army. His wife mentioned to us that he was looking forward to hearing it again the next morning. We didn't disappoint.Response by SSgt Dan Montague made May 5 at 2015 9:59 AM2015-05-05T09:59:47-04:002015-05-05T09:59:47-04:00LTC Private RallyPoint Member644530<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Navy it means get up "all hands heavenout and trice up"<br />Army its first formation/morning colors.Response by LTC Private RallyPoint Member made May 5 at 2015 10:17 PM2015-05-05T22:17:25-04:002015-05-05T22:17:25-04:00LCDR Private RallyPoint Member676896<div class="images-v2-count-1"><div class="content-picture image-v2-number-1" id="image-41331"> <div class="social_icons social-buttons-on-image">
