I want to share the site called Veterans Referring Veterans. It is a site for veterans to list there veteran owned business. I started a new coffee company in January of this year and it was a slow start. I was referred to Veterans Referring Veterans by a friend and once I got listed I noticed a big uptick in sales and calls. There is a fee of $100.00 for a one year listing or $50.00 for six months. I do know that currently they are offering veterans who want to get listed in the VRV their first year for $50.00 or their first 6 months for $25.00. The promo codes are listed on their plan page. VRV members who have registered their business are also able to post one add each week to the VRV Facebook page. The directory is layed out in nice categories and it is easy for people who want to support veteran owned business rather it be Lawn Care to legal services. You also get to display the official VRV certified seal on your store front or web page. VRV is veteran owned as well. So check it out. Everyone's been so holed-up and feeling isolated with the pandemic. Sometimes it feels unsafe to exit the home for even small tasks. As soon as I found out that veterans who are Georgia residents get a 25% discount on a daily ParkPass for Georgia State Parks, I saw an opportunity.

Although the pandemic is a potential danger, I have to think being outdoors in nature can be beneficial. I was familiar with Sweetwater Creek State Park from when I lived nearby in Austell some years ago. I hadn't been there in years! I presented my veteran's ID and they gave me 25% discount on my admission fee. A couple friends and I took a hike down to the creek and had a great time. Social distancing was not hard, the place was not crowded at all.

I couldn't help but think doing that was being part of the solution. Exercise not only helps bolster the immune system, but I've always been fascinated by how being out in nature feels like a 'reset' button. I would not have considered taking that trip had it not been for the opportunity presented by my veteran's discount. What a cool benefit!
