Just got word that my last remaining uncle, a man who was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge, died quietly in his sleep this week. He was 97 years, 7 months, and 28 days old and too damn ornery to ever get sick (he had a slight heart murmer and was hard of hearing - that's all). RIP Uncle Romie!

There have been many RallyPoint members who have sought ways to recognize impactful individual service members and veterans who have passed either in combat or after their military career.
It is not practical to recognize every individual with a separate discussion, but we are happy to host those posts on this central thread.
You are invited to post responses here about individual service members and veterans that you wish to honor.

Sorry for your loss. That generation is passing away at an ever increasing rate this days. We all have to take a moment and try to learn as much as we can from them while we still can.
My condolences to you and your family. What a privilege it must be to have known him. I wish I could have heard his stories.
