At the time, my company tactical officer was named Major Major. That fact made the book more interesting and I couldn't help but notice the irony of the novel and my own situation. Later on I met the former tactical officer after he had been promoted and was now LTC Major. We always wonder if he named any of his children Sargent. LTC Stephen F.
