The S6 has the data pipes (JNN and STT), tactical communications and the computers , the CSSAMO owns the the STAMIS small aperture terminals and the GCCS-A (and any remaining legacy STAMIS).

There are occasionally firewall issues that need to be worked jointly. Understand the SASMO will be executing directives to keep access to GCcS-A. Just as you are executing policy pushed from the G6. The value added is coordinating and deconflicting issues to keep all systems up and compliant.

SASMO works for the SPO, because logistics. The assets are not S6 assets, but should be considered in the communications PACE. We had extra SATs in places we shouldn't because there was no other supporting data capability. Their network is independent. They are not technically interchangeable. The S6 deals with connectivity of digital and Comm systems. The S6 will deal with some software matters, but your SASMO deals specifically with STAMIS issues.

I have seen in some units wherr SASMO blends with S6 and they work together. There are other units where they prefer to keep them segregated. There are pluses and minuses to either course of action.
