I am slotted to become an AIT PLT SGT and dates have been reserved for AUG '15, with graduation at the end of September.
Would I be able to request orders to report early to my next assignment?

In AZ schools start the first week of August, and I wouldn't want my children to have to be enrolled for only a few weeks then taken out, and miss out on school with PCS travel etc.

You will have to go through the drill sergeant branch for early reporting. They can make it happen, it will just be a pain in your butt to get it done.

My last 2 years as an AIT PSG, have been super busy, 16+ hour days pretty regularly and a lot of weekend work. However, it has been a rewarding two years working with and molding the future. They have a million and one questions and half of them the same lol but you will feel good when you (finally) go home for the night.

Good luck on your journey and with the early reporting!

SSG (Join to see) By the way, great job opportunity. How do you manage those cool locations? CONUS I seem to only be able to find Fort Dix, or Fort Polk. LOL

I'm MI and I speak English and Spanish, and can understand Portuguese so being here fit for me :)

With regards to PLT SGT, I actually did not request this assignment, I requested Recruiter BUT I think its a good fit for what I want to do in the Army, so Im not upset about it

Roger, copy Lima Charlie. Won't ask for more info, as I would hate you have the need to get rid of me. LOL. Tambien hablo Espanol, e tambem falo portugues. Moito Obrigado. Hope you can ask questions before you get those hard dates, I think that if you can bring those issues to your chain of command, they will be able to assist you more effectively.

I had the same issue but was denied early report. (not that you will) Just be mindful AIT PSG is a demanding job. I was working 16 hr days and averaging only 1 day off a month. It was the worst two years of not just my career but, life. Just a heads up but, my did AIT PSG at Ft. Lee so maybe it will be different where you are going.

Indeed, but you can request information about hard date for those orders, up to the authorities that process it. Are you AD, RES, NG? It all depends what component.

I am AD, and talked to my J1 about orders...but he said I have not come down on the list for orders to be cut, so now its a waiting game until then. I just hope I have enough time between orders being cut and requesting to report early. :/

Regardless on where you are on the "list" for orders to be cut, your orders can be cut. You can always request early report, now them allowing you to report early is another things. As long as your justification is a good one, and children entering school at the appropriate time does sound like a justifiable reason. I hope it all works out.
