It is a pain to undergo but there is good opportunity on the other side. I help a lot of SDVOB's get going through GallantFew (no charge). If you're interested in talking drop me a note. Thankfully, the start-up overhead was under $50k. The risk of losing momentum while waiting for the VA was greater than if we supplied the outlay... hence NOT using the SDVOSB. I had a completely positive experience and the many negative stories had caused me to procrastinate for nearly 2 years. I registered in SAM.gov and in SBA ahead of time. <br />I had all the paperwork researched ahead of time and ready to submit so it took me one full day to load everything up. I was assigned a counselor who called me and worked with me one on one for about a week to make sure that everything would go smoothly when the paperwork left her desk. She had told me the review averages about 6 weeks but I got certified in ONE week after she submitted the paperwork at her end. The most onerous issues I had were getting the webpage username and passwords for all the sites, like SAM.gov and SBA.
