What airline seats should we pick when flying with children, and how can I find a seating chart for passengers on an airplane?

For the first time we are flying on vacation with the children, I want to think through everything to the smallest detail, including the airline we will fly with and even the seats on the plane. Can anyone advise which seats to take and how to find a seating chart for passengers on an airplane?

As a dad and a grandfather my wife and I would pick seats near the restrooms for those sudden urges to go to the restroom. You will thank yourself for the entire flight to and from your destination..
