I am strongly opposed to this. The Army already has coed units that function just fine. There is no need for separate units. Ironically enough the female Soldier in the thumbnail for the link was in my unit during my last tour to Iraq. I believe that picture was taken in Ramadi if I am not mistaken.

I have had women in my MP companies from the beginning of my time in. I have never had an issue.

Segregation in the Army of any sort is not good. Once you start segregating in to All women, what is next? All Black? Hispanic? Catholic? Christian? Southerner? Northerner? NO NO!!!

As one that has served with women in Desert Storm, Iraq Freedom I & II if a female can meet the standards then I am all in.

We had all women units until 1976. We had all black units until 1948.
That time has passed.

I work with female pilots on a daily basis and they are kept to the same standards. They are top talent.
I realize that females in combat on the ground may be a different situation. The physical differences are significant and I can see both sides of the argument. If they are held to same standard then I'm all for the complete integration.

It will cause issues because the minute that an all male infantry unit gets picked over the female one for any mission, deployment, etc. it will cause a huge fit and put another blemish on the military.

Military members are military members. Yes, some are men, some are women.

I do not see any value to having for example "combat" units that are restricted to females.

That being said, it would be a badge of honor if there was such a unit, that engaged these SOBs and whipped that ass.

All female units is bad and females in combat MOS is bad also.
Well combat arms welcome to the support world. Be prepared to lose soldiers for a year due to pregnancy, be prepared for fraternization within the unit, platoon, and squad. Get ready for "shower runs" every 3rd day and everyday of the soldier is on cycle. Don't forget infanty dudes no more just taking a piss anywhere better walk to where you can't be seen. And get ready to change up the words you use when I are upset and yelling at the platoon lol.
I'm laughing just thinking about combat MOS changing up lol.

It is really about capabilities and standards. Regardless of gender, if a person can perform the duties, with the same standards as everyone else in that role, I support it. If the standards are lowered to increase the number of those formerly viewed as unacceptable to be assigned or if standards are raised to exclude individuals who could otherwise perform the duties, then that is wrong. Leader set standards and enforce them equally. My fear is that standards have become 'negotiable' depending on the political agenda involved.

As a father of a little girl, a soldier, then later as an Officer as an OCS TAC and OCS Commander..... Bring IT!

As I told the female OCs at OCS, "Ladies it is both unfair and reality that men will prejudge you based on your gender. I cannot change human nature, but it's my job to warn you and train you to be prepared for it. Face this now verse later, and I'll laugh quietly with you every time you show one of the blockhead males, who as big and as bravado as I seem, they made a huge mistake underestimating you. It'll only happen once if you he'd my warning".
