HN Private RallyPoint Member 976209 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am currently in the Navy as a FMF Corpsman. I have made a solid decision that I want to be an Army Ranger. I had multiple questions and was hoping to talk to a recruiter or knowledgeable individual. The main question is how can obtain a path to being a Ranger, if I can at all? Seeking answers. I was wondering if anyone could assist me with my questions for joining the Army. 2015-09-18T18:24:44-04:00 HN Private RallyPoint Member 976209 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am currently in the Navy as a FMF Corpsman. They will train you and work you very hard. You will need to go through jump school to be airborne qualified.<br />Prior to being promoted to SGT in a ranger battalion you would need to pass ranger school. Being in a ranger battalion would give you somewhat of a home filed advantage as the ranger school cadre are selected from the ranger battalions and other ranger qualifies soldiers. It would normally be 11B Infantry MOS but assignment to the Ranger Regiment. Since you are a Corpsman, you might want to look at 68W MOS as well. After your training, you would go to Airborne School and then report to the Regiment (all at Fort Benning). The Regiment will then put you through the Ranger Assessment and Selection Program before assigning you to one of the Battalions. Ranger School would also be in the pipeline since all NCOs and most E4s will go. However, after going through the RASP, you should not have any issues with Ranger School barring any injury. Ranger school is a 61 day leadership course and return to your unit. Ranger Regiment is a Special Operations outfit. Any "Ranger contract" will be for assessment to serve in the Regiment, not the school. Obviously most folks from the Regiment go to Ranger school as ether a requirment for their duty position or because its the right thing to do.
