Why do we give special preferences to illegal aliens and refugees and other foreigners over US citizens? There are numerous people trying to enter the US legally, are good people, properly vetted but can't, spouses of US citizens even. But we welcome non-vetted (or not properly) people who have no connection to the US, who are a real potential threat? Why and when will legal American citizens (in this case legal spouses) have priority over non-US citizens?

I want to know why after WE THE PEOPLE gave you Republicans control of Congress you pissed away all the good chances you had to make thing right. Why did you let Obama Care rape the people of their existing health care plans and now are being charged so much more than the policies they had and were forced to give up?
Why is it that Congress has raped Social Security of the money WE THE PEOPLE have paid in and you, OUR SERVANTS have so wastefully put it in the position of default?

You all have pissed off the majority of people off in the United States, that's the reason Donald Trump is now the GOP candidate. Just because none of you did your jobs is the reason he's there. Are you going to support him or what?
I really don't expect you to answer any of my question and if you attempt I will not be surprised by a run around reply instead of a down to earth face to face answer which most of you career politicians fail to do!

First let me thank you for taking the time to answer our questions. The greatest honor is serving our country. And I thank you for your service.

My question is.
Why do Republicans in the House and Senate refuse to listen to their conservative constituents. I would think the primary race would open the ears of politicians of the dissatisfaction of those they repersent. I understand you can not please everyone but there appears to be a blatant refusal to listen to the reasonable thinking of the people. By ignoring us you just increase our frustration and dissatisfaction in our leaders we have elected. The main goal should be always to maintain the greatness of this country. To protect and maintain the freedoms given to us by our forefathers and those who have shed their blood in defending it! But I have to be honest! There is a great disservice when those who have been elected to serve forget those individuals they are serving. Those same people that got them to where they are at! Personally I was never a Trump supporter but I understand the following he has garnered. It is time that the voices be heard and our leaders listen!

What is the current mission in Afghanistan? I know when we went in there in 2001, it was to expel the Taliban. THAT mission has been accomplished.

What are the reasonable, measurable benchmarks of success?

At what point do we realize/admit that we are accomplishing nothing there (except lining the pockets of the corrupt Afghan government that has no real power outside Kabul)?

Failing real answers for those questions, how long will we be sending US Military personnel there to be shot at, maimed, and killed for no real reason?

Senator McConnell, thank you for taking time to answer our questions. I am a disabled veteran, as many in RP are.
My question to you is, what is going to be done to help our veterans, get through the VA claims process faster?
When are we going to get the riff raff out of the VA system, and put people in their place who are responsible employees and care about the veterans?

If it takes two VA secretaries to accomplish this mission, to get our VA systems, working for us, instead of against us, why isn't more being done other than lip service?

When someone, in the VA management systems, are found guilty of misappropriating money, hiding or destroying veterans paperwork, and lying about it, when are they going to be held responsible guilty, and paying for what they did? The trend seems to be arresting them, finding them not guilty of anything wrong and putting them back in the VA system.

We need help. The VA system has had a bad name going all the way back to WW I, and possibly the civil war. My dad went one time and said he would never go back in his lifetime. I cannot express to you how serious a problem this is in all the VA hospitals. At my Houston VA there are vets driving three to four hours to get treatment because their VA is not equipped to help them. Please take this problem back with you and demand something be done soon, before another vet dies waiting to get the help he or she earned and is entitled to.

We appreciate you coming out and braving the flames of passion, because that is what you are going to find here.

I'm not big on casting blame but we've reached a point where picking sides is like choosing between Coke and Pepsi. It's the "Illusion of Choice."

It's great to believe that a specific Party's "platter of goods" is going to align with an individual, but it's far more likely that we're going to both agree and disagree on various issues. By selecting your party I have to give up other key issues. By selecting the other party the same thing happens. The dichotomy is too great.

Why should "I" as a Citizen support the Two Party System at all? Let alone either side of it, which just means I am going to deal with giving up one "set of Rights" depending on who is in Power?

By some accounts, general productivity of recent Congresses have been consistently at the lower range of the spectrum.

Now, the presumptive Presidential Candidate Nominees are thought to be two of the least popular candidates, perhaps in history.

What can be done to restore confidence in our government. I fear that regardless of which candidate becomes the next POTUS, the cycle of issues that have plagued our government will continue.

2) A few years ago, the US Military was sent notification that because of a no agreement on the budget could be reached, there was a chance that US Military personnel might not get paid....yet politicians sure had the ability to continue to receive pay....and a few days after that possible no pay notice was sent out, I saw that there was $300 million going to assist Egypt...why is that?

Thanks for joining us and opening up the floor to questions. As you can tell we are a very passionate group of individuals who have taken quite the brunt of the politicking especially over the last ten years. You've been in the Senate since before I was even a thought, but I have to admit I didn't know much about your stances and had to do some research on recent bills regarding Veterans. Honestly, I knew it was bad, but did not truly understand how much the parties used bills that would benefit veterans as power plays. A few such bills include most recently the cuts to the Veterans Affairs Funding Bill, Women Veterans and Families Health Services Act, Veterans Health and Benefits and Military Retirement Pay Restoration Act, Veterans Jobs Corps Act, and the Homeless Women Veterans and Homeless Veterans with Children Act. Each of these bills had the opportunity to make Veterans lives a little better, to ensure they get the necessary treatment, to expand education and health care, to allow Veterans and Service Members to start families even after being wounded... But instead each party dug in their heels because it may have involved Planned Parenthood, because they didn't want the other party to get a win, because for whatever reason the Republican Party felt they needed to include sanctions on Iran in a bill regarding Veterans.

I know this is a lot of build up, but my question is what is your long game to help those who have served this nation and have endured years of conflict and how do you plan to get the legislation passed? Thanks so much for your time.

Thanks for taking the time. My question is with minimum increases in military wages and with the civilian/military pay gap growing larger for work we do; would you even propose, sponsor, or consider a special income tax bracket for military members active/reserve/national guard. We are losing any ground we had compared to the civilian markets we are being forced to for everyday living. All of our advantages (exchanges, health care, retirement, BAH, etc) are being nickel and dimed at a slow but increasing rate, while pay has only went up at the slowest historical rates (2011-1.4%, 2102-1.6%, 2013-1.7%,2014-1%,2015-1.3%,2016-1.3%, and 2017 is projected at 1.6%).
I think a special tax rate for anyone serving active duty under 8 years should be a 6%, while anyone from 9-20 years should be 8%, and 21-40 should be capped at 12% at the federal level.
We hold an important job that possess a unique skill set that only employees a total of 1.4 million to include the Coast Guard(active), while maintaining rough 800,000 in the COMPO 2 and 3 forces.

5) Why can Congress not agree and set it straight who the enemy is within the Middle East and let the military do what it is intended to do? This is pretty much like being in school and told to write a term paper on a topic that is handed to you but you can't use any resources or references except the one(s) you are given

Why do State Representatives need to leave their state to vote on bills in DC when we have the capabilities of networking and to holding secure satellite meetings and conferences now. This seems like a waste of tax payer dollars for travel and lodging and often reps are not out there in their communities, where they belong. Often these individuals are with larger companies doing fund raising and being tempted by lobbyist and not reading and thinking through the Billions of dollars that are being spent in the bills they are voting on.

Do you believe this is a capability or way of doing business that would be good for D.C. and the nation of tax payers they represent?

1. Sequestration was voted on and ratified by both parties in congress, and approved by the President. It was never supposed to take place, but used as a means to get folks to the table. No one came to the table from either party, and the only ones who are paying the price are the same individuals that are sent into harms way by the President and congress. You know that we've shrunk to a very meager size that cannot support what we're doing, but no one has tried to stop this train wreck from happening. Why should anyone believe you or any other politician when we're hearing reruns of the same song, and the only twist to it is the finger pointing and blame game?

What can we do to get more Active Duty to vote? Seems to me when I was in, we got in formation twice daily and if anything was really important, we were told about it or we were marched somewhere to do something (like immunizations for example) Why doesn't the military think its important enough to march soldiers, sailors and airmen directly to a voting booth on election day? If they decline to fill out a ballot then so be it but at least he was given every available opportunity. Rarely in the civilian world do you get to vote for your own boss so take advantage of it! I'll almost bet that everyone gets their tax forms force-fed to them. Why not a ballot? They should make voting worth points or at least have competitions to see what post/brigade/battalion/company votes the most (percentage wise).

Does the Congress plan to so anything to try to restrain the Supreme Court in the abuse of its authority? The SCOTUS has in effect taken over the power of legislation with many of their recent decisions.

How else is the leading candidate for one of major political parties not in prison or even charged after admitting to violations of the espionage act? Under this Act you go to prison even for unintended mistakes, not that anyone believes they were mistakes in this case.

The President has refused to follow the oath of office he took to defend and obey the Constitution...He has in fact ordered the Justice Department, ICE and Homeland Security to ignore the laws of this country.

I believe the FBI has enough evidence to convict MS Clinton under the RICO Act as well... I suspect that evidence is going to come out into the open no matter who orders otherwise. The nation waits for the AG to place the charges and many suspect she will not on order of the President, again in violation of his duties...

So tell us why you have not done anything about any of this in violation of your oath of office... to protect and defend...that you have held for over 30 years.

I would never even consider voting for Hillary, but I am struggling to get on board with Trump. I'm leaning towards third-party...specifically Darrell Castle from the Constitution Party. I know that he'd be a long shot, but President John Quincy Adams did say, "Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost." Senator, I am curious about how the divisive politics that so plague Washington and the Capitol Building have (in your perception) benefited the citizens of this country. Republicans have been in control of both houses for more than a year, and the only thing I ever hear from you and Fox News is that you are trying to combat President Obama, but I never hear actual solutions to the problems we face. A perfect example is the latest Zika virus outbreak throughout Central and South America, which we now have 40 confirmed cases in Texas and more in Florida. President Obama has requested $1.9B to support the states' efforts to control the mosquito population and the federal government's vaccine/cure research efforts. However, you and the House left for another vacation without resolving the issue while the disease spreads at an exponential rate due to the rising summertime temperatures.
We could also consider the last 7 years of efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act, with no solution or revision put forward as a replacement. I am assuming you don't actually intend to repeal it, because the insurance companies and medical industry has already spent billions of dollars on the implementation of the law and to change it at this point would hurt the American economy more than the perceived damage done by passing the law, but by continuing to talk about it, you can use it as political leverage to win votes from simple minded people who are incapable of realizing that you really have no plans other than to create division.
The ultimate point in my post/question is to point out that you as our elected senator have a responsibility to WE THE PEOPLE to represent what is best for us, not you and your ability to maintain your $175,000/year salary while doing nothing to benefit WE THE PEOPLE. The people in this forum are here because we all took an oath to defend our country and each other, as a UNITED whole, not just the democrats or republicans, not just the blacks or the whites, not just the jews or the christians nor the muslims. We took the oath to stand together to protect this country and to die if necessary to defend one another. We expect you to do your duty to actually do what is best for us as a nation and not you as a senator, because you are making $175,000/year (for the rest of your life) to represent us in the US Senate. We enlisted in the military to make $17,000/year and to be shot at and possibly killed on the battlefield. Even the highest ranking officer in the military who has much more experience and responsibility than you makes less than your salary, so for once in your career, please earn your money and do something for us, the citizens.
We deserve nothing less than that. Also, I should probably point out that if I did my job (Mechanical Engineer, BSME, MSME, PE) as poorly as you and the rest of Congress does yours, I would have been fired years ago.

Mitch McConnell - I am fortunate enough to be able to afford the cost of nearly a year of visits to a private psychiatrist to resolve post traumatic stress associated with caring for wounded in an army evacuation hospital in country (Republic of Vietnam) forty five years ago. However, when I was first stricken with these intense flashbacks and reliving the feelings of helplessness amidst onslaught of mass casualty care, I called the VA Suicide Hotline to learn there was little in the way of care that VA could provide for women ( and incidentally for men ) who were not directly engaged in combat -- that the focus of the VA was necessarily on combat veterans -- and those of us who played support roles ( even in country ) were not their priority -- and there were no in patient programs for women suffering from post traumatic stress arising from their mass casualty patient care experience. Would you be willing to try to do whatever is possible to help the VA prioritize and provide care for health care providers who experience debilitating effects of post traumatic stress due to care for wounded? Mitch McConnell - There are increasing numbers of reports of outrageous sexual assaults on base / in quarters / in sequestered areas of ships / etc -- by senior / supervisory members against junior and less experienced members of our armed forces -- far more so today than during my service in Vietnam. We were generally protected like sisters by our brothers in arms who made it clear to any potential miscreant they would be severely disciplined for misbehavior. Veterans educational benefits:
In state tuition, all veterans, regardless of state (or at least our disabled vets at 30% disability or greater)
Disabled veterans, extend benefit deadlines (versus current 10yrs)
Two education programs, one for veterans with time in service leading to percentage tuition paid and one for permanently disabled veterans (30% or over) with full tuition benefits.

Veterans medical (TriCare)
Tricare does not take advantage of value based care models to improve care and lower cost for our vets. For example, alternative payment models through CMS and value based agreements utilized in commercial insurance. Can we help this group take advantage of these models?
I am so disappointed in the VA medical that I cannot express myself. The care our most exposed vets receive there... Its criminal… Provide TriCare model for this group, allow choice and create accountability within the department.

Can you help drive change?

Why is the GOP allowing a loose cannon like Trump be the nominee? Aren't there useful requirements in the constitution for presidential candidates other than being an American? Yes the people want him there, but is it right? Is it right for the legacy and testimony of this great nation? People like him because he has the guts to say things they say in their homes and work all the time and then those that they wouldn't dare say. I suggest drawing up some fresh and common sense requirements and disqualifications for candidates to the presidency as GOP. Here are some recommendations:

Hello Senator. I have an issue that I'm hoping you might be able to help with or at least direct me. I served for 17 years in Active and Reaerve units and every 6 months I would check out my medical and 201 file to make copies of the items in it. I recently went to the VA to file for my benefits. It appears my medical file was sanitized somewhere between discharge and St. Louis archives. Over half my medical records are missing that document injuries and hospitalizations during my career. I presented my copies to the VA, but the won't accept them since they are not marked "Certified DA or DOD copies". So pretty much the documents I have are useless according to the VA. These documents validate my medical claims of the injuries incurred while serving. How would you suggest I resolve this issue so I can receive the benefits I'm entitled to after serving 17 years?

Mitch McConnell - What are your views on putting the military back in charge of diplomatic mission ( embassy and consular ) security in countries where diplomatic personnel and their "technical support" staff are at an increasing risk of kidnapping, torture, and death? In my opinion, the inability of Benghazi and other diplomatic outpost personnel to plan and communicate, and receive necessary timely, direct, and effective military support ( orbiting AC-130 gunship etc ) puts diplomatic personnel at undue risk - and should not be tolerated. USDOS DPS have access only to small arms - and must of necessity rely on the host country ( ineffective ) and our military forces ( insufficiently engaged now ) to mobilize emergency response and heavy weapons to hold and/or evacuate our diplomatic missions. Are there plans to change the former spouse law that the former spouse receives 50% of the retirees money. If that law would be changed you could probably eliminate alot of Veterans being homeless. That extra 50% may not be the answer but it will help in.the end.

How can the members of the Senate and House sit by and watch business leave our shore when we have the highest corporate tax rates in the world, the most difficult regulatory environment in the world, the most cumbersome tax rules in the world. Communist China takes better care of its capitalist endeavors than we do!

2. We currently borrow .40 cents of every dollar we spend in Washington. This debt is being laid at our children's feet and will strangle their economic opportunities for 30-40 years at least. The interest on the debt is at historic lows but if it goes up we are in even more trouble. How much longer will we play this game of trying to spend our way to prosperity and ruining our children's futures? How is that compassionate or fair to future generations? Sir: I have 2 questions. I'll keep them brief. 1st: why is military retired pay linked to social security
pay when it comes to yeRly increases? Military retired pay will only receive a COLA increase if SS pay receives one. Thus, if there is no COLA increase for social security, there will be no increase for retired pay. Can it be attached to active duty pay? Realistically personnel are not retired from military service; they are placed on the inactive roles subject to recall. Why than can they not received the same pay increases as active personnel?
2nd: In the day when we are fighting a two front war, Afghanistan and the actions against terrorism (ISIS, AQI, etc) have the number of personnel on active duty been decreased. In the 1980's, during the Cold War, we had a 17 Division, 750,000, member Army and we were working towards a 500 ship Navy. Now we have less than 500,000 active duty soldiers in the Army. We now contract all logistics in theater to private corporations and employ the private sector in Intelligence collecting and personnel security. It sounds like you want a force of mercenaries rather than a force of citizens defending their home. It also appears you no longer want a military capable of supporting itself but rather depending on others to continue the fight.

First: Why did you hijack legislation that would have been incredibly beneficial for vets (Veterans Job Corps) and get it killed after it initially received unanimous bipartisan support? Second: How can you reasonably call yourself a legislator when you have stated that the goal of your party is to prevent Democrats from achieving anything that would be considered an accomplishment in an election year? Senator McConnell,

First, I would like to share with the members of Rally Point that you and you office have been very good to me. In 2004 I was wounded in Baghdad, Iraq while with the Kentucky National Guard. I was submitted for a Purple Heart, which my parent command denied twice because I did not seek medical attention immediately. I had instead chose to continue with my unit until the mission was complete 4 days later. Then I went to the seek medical attention.

With all options exhausted my wife contacted Sen. McConnell's office. Within 7 days a Congressional Investigation was requested by Sen McConnell's office. Within 9 days I was having my Purple Heart pinned on by a Full Bird.

For that I thank you.

With that being said, I am still a very frustrated Republican voter. Some how my party has fallen so far behind in the reality of what the American voter wants that I now have to choose between a lying criminal and a loud mouth that can't keep up with his rants from the last 20 years. Neither are good for America.

So just a few questions.

At what point is the Republican Party going to stop catering to the religious right and start representing the majority which are moderate Republicans.

The follow up question to the above. What is the Republican Party doing to attract people other than white males? Namely black, Latinos, women, and younger voters. At what point does it quit being lip service and the rubber meets the road because we have heard the same song and dance for the last 8 years and nothing has changed.

Last, with the ability of voters to donate directly to candidates of our choosing why do we still need the Republican party to get candidates elected? I only say this because of people like Trump no longer needing the money of the Republican Super PACs they do not have to fall into the Republican agenda and can address issues as their constituents at a local level.

The problem as I see it is they tell you what they are doing with their right hand, but never show you what is in their left hand. The left hand is the one to watch and usually the bad news. Kind of like Paul Ryan announcing a budget compromise at a press conference without telling anyone about the 1% Cola reduction that was in his left hand. Or like our esteemed senators (Cruz & Graham) on the SASC placing their stamp of approval on a DOD authorization bill that cut military benefits in 4 key areas. Graham wears the uniform and Cruz is ready to put our troops in harms way in a heart beat. Now you are giving us Mitch McConnell and what is he doing? Hawking a book and all the while lining his pockets with more green. I sure as hell hope he is donating the proceeds to a worthy veterans cause. The only reason I would buy a Mitch book is to have some kindling for the annual summer bonfire @ the beach. I am now having second thoughts about RP. I get enough politics on the TV. As with many, we see the fact that Congress and other members of the Government continue to see pay raises yet the military is dramatically effected and if anything receive a 1 or 2% raise at times if we are lucky. My first question is why are we allowing women into the infantry against much protest from those currently and formerly serving in that capacity? I fail to see how working with a woman makes my unit stronger, more cohesive. If anything the opposite happens. Why are the offical reports about the women who graduated ranger school conflicting the first and second hand accounts I've heard thus far? Why is there. A push to cut our BAH even more than before? Why is there such a lack of representatives being held accountable for failures of programs they were given oversight of? ( Senator Bernie Sanders for example ). This lack of accountability and attack on our benefits is disheartening, if you want to make cuts to our income, be sure to lead by example and shoulder as much of the financial burden as a would be felt by the lowest ranking individual in the military. I use the VA for my healthcare. Recently I had to use Choice for my healthcare. The VA actually switched me to Non_VA healthcare where I would use my Medicare as Primary and VA would pay the remainder. I have never been contacted by VA about which program I want to use. Now I am being hit with my Medicare deductible for the surgery of $1288.88. VA Should pay that since they referred me to private healthcare. I now have to use the service again for pain management since VA is 60 days out. Hope things go better this time.

The benefits I receive today because of my past service are more than I truly deserve but I am not dumb and will not turn away what I earned. Finally, all I am asking is that like myself, when I asked all those around me "Who do you work for? your answer had better been "The Public At Large", any other answer is UNACCEPTABLE, period.... So Sir, put politics aside Serve Our Country Honorably, Say No to the Lobbyists, Say No to the Partisan Politics and Say Yes to the Very Real Needs of Our Country and the People and not just the wealthy..... there are those who are for whatever reason are having a difficult time in life and for us to not step forward to help Demeans Our Own Values and Lives.... Do you support the American Heroes COLA Act and the three following changes 1. Give veterans who have a service connected disability a 25% pay raise. 2. Give veterans who have a service connected disability rating of 60% or more Quality Of life payments using the disability scale making payment proportional to the veteran's disability rating. Allow for back pay 3 yrs for 100% or less and 5 yrs for permanent and total disability. 3. I had been using my cell phone and continually get tailored messages about my State Senator Kelly Ayotte. I looked into it and found the superpac and Americans for Responsible Solutions PAC. During elections and on voting days ads on tv, mobile devices and the car radio (many people listen while driving to work and such), it is primarily democrat ads. If Mitch McConnell thinks 32 years in the Senate is "The Long Game" he is sadly mistaken. I served 21 years in the military and 21 years in DOD (mostly with the Army in Germany) and was a foot soldier in the GOP in 63-64 for that presidential campaign as well. Read Senator Goldwater's acceptance speech at the Cow Palace in San Francisco, and absolutely nothing has changed since then... the social progressive democrats have destroyed the fabric of our country starting with the rape of social security by Lyndon Johnson in order to fund Vietnam AND his welfare giveaway entitlement programs. This is most likely the defining moment in electoral politics for the United States, and will determine if we survive or not. If he wants to to be remembered as a horses's ass he will do nothing. If he wants to be remembered as part of the team that protected our national heritage, Original Intent, he will define the fight for nominations to the Supreme Court and the Federal Judiciary based on the litmus test decided in the pages of National Review and the Puget Sound Law Review concerning Original Intent and the refusal to approve Judge Bork. The first step is to set up a superPAC (Writ of Mandamus.org) to fund the attack on the Obama Justice Department to force the indictment and prosecution of Hilary Clinton. It is time to forge a new "Contract with America" to overturn and remove social progressive political victories, and to stop uncontrolled governement spending. As a military man, as a taxpayer, as a man who has been fascinated by aviation all his life, and as a man who has studied lots of political and military history, I am firmly convinced that the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Plane project is a tremendous waste of money. We've spent far too much already and we've gotten far too little in return. I want to see that project killed, before it wrecks our national budget and military budget even more than it already has. Let's take delivery of existing planes and parts, cancel all the rest of the contracts, and send everybody back to the drawing board. I would like to know why there is talk of reducing retirement benefits as well as increasing trice payments. When I joined the Army free medical care was a strong selling point, epically to stay in to retirement. Now I read that many members of Congress are talking about increasing rates or watering down our medical. While writing that comparison, I discovered one short 23-word paragraph that the Confederates added to their Constitution that I really wish was part of ours.

Article I, Section 9, Paragraph 20 of the Confederate Constitution read:“(20) Every law, or resolution having the force of law, shall relate to but one subject, and that shall be expressed in the title.”
It restricts every bill before Congress to deal with one subject alone. That means no riders, add-ons or 2,000 page bills that cover hundreds of different items. That would eliminate all of the pet projects that Congressmen and women constantly add on to the end of totally unrelated bills. This would save hundreds of billions and even trillions of taxpayer dollars.

Just imagine what that would have meant to Obamacare. Every aspect of the massive socialist tome would have to have been separated out into individual bills. Each individual bill would then be scrutinized and either passed or rejected. Do you think that parts of Obamacare like the individual mandate, employer mandate, contraception mandate and all of the nearly 20 additional taxes created or raised by the Affordable Care Act would have been passed and signed into law if they were handled individually?

What about the federal appropriations or budget bills? Wouldn’t it make more sense to see one bill for the Defense Department, one bill for the Justice Department and so on? It would make it much harder to sneak in spending for more than what’s really necessary.

I honestly think that if we adopted this paragraph from the Confederate Constitution that it would drastically reduce federal spending and save American taxpayers trillions of dollars in the long run. What say ye?

There is a rumor going around that BAH will begin to be treated like OHA (Where there is a "if you don't use it, you lose it," with regards to the housing allowance. Is this true? If it is I would request that you don't support this measure. Here are the reasons:

While, in theory, it may save the government money in practice it leads to predatory pricing by landlords and reduces the incentive for service members, who want to buy a home, to purchase a home they can truly afford. While serving in Korea my family and I lived off base. The realtors we worked with all knew how much OHA we would received and magically the rent for any property we looked at was magically the same rate. This was true for everyone else I met while stationed there. To add insult to injury, it was not uncommon to find service members in the same apartment complexes (with identical floor plans) paying vastly different amounts for rent purely based on their pay grade.

Additionally, the ability of home station finance offices to track each service members' mortgage or rent and pay them accordingly is questionable. It just adds another level of bureaucratic nonsense which takes away from the real focus of the military, to support and defend the Constitution of the United States.

The President had term limits because the fear of too much power, well isn't that the case in Congress right now. And we need either term limits or an age limit for those on the Supreme Court.

What is your take on the potential of doing away with the current "Naturalization procedures", for immigrants ie: not having to go through the established method's in place to obtain "American Citizenship status ?
I'm a naturalized citizen who went through these procedures and i't appears we're looking at a blanket system to openly naturalize all immigrants without going through what I, as many other's in past year's had to comply with by law ?

A 11 year old boy coming home from school in Houston, Tx fatally stabbed 20 time's by a fellow veteran returning from the current conflict and deeply suffering from "PTSD" is in custody for this crime ? Under the watch of the last few Republican Congresses, our combat arms were systematically emasculated by Secretaries Panatta and Maibus with little resistance, quantifiably increasing deployment costs, and reducing combat survivability, readiness and efficiency not to mention the adverse effects on moral, retention, the culture, and discipline, .etc. These effects are well documented by DOD studies since the early 90's so they aren't credibly refutable and references can be quickly cited.

I have a son who is an armored crewman the army, so the pacivity with witch this was allowed to happen is concerning. I would like to know, why does the military retire active duty Soldiers at less than 20 years when they have been medically certified as unfit for duty. While at the WTU at JBLM, I met a active duty SSG being Medically discharged at 19.5 years service. He's not eligible for concurrent pay of any sort, c'mon, the small amount of Soldiers drawing both from the VA and Active duty retirement is a drop in the bucket, give them a break.

Why is the VA not letting my brother-in-law get the knee replacement he needs for his right and left knees.. His knees do not bend he walks stiff legged and falls often. When going up of down stairs he has to lift and pull on his pant legs to go up or down steps. Should be a no brainier when you see him walk that his knees do not work and have not worked for 3 years and are getting worse. He was told he is not old enough to get knee replacement surgery. A Marine who was wounded in combat on more than one deployment should not have to beg or wait for what he is owed. His quality of life sucks!

Mitch I'd like to known why in 2014 you hijacked the Veterans Health and Benefits and Military Retirement Pay Restoration Act by attaching an amendment to the bill which would have levied sanctions on Iran.

To refresh your memory, this bill, proposed by Senator Bernie Sanders, was a piece of sweeping legislation that would have expanded healthcare and education for veterans. After clearing a procedural vote by a 99-0 margin, argument began over the proposed amendments, and Republican Senators took to the floor to raise concerns over the cost of the bill; it was then ultimately defeated with 41 of 45 Senate Republicans voting against the bill.

My family has served in every war since this country became a nation, I myself have served in two of them, and I'd like a valid reason to give my children as to why we, as Veteran's, are consistently screwed over by the "Grand Ole Party".

If I am wrong about any of this please let me know. Why can't well fare have term limits instead of well fare for life? I guess it's only fair sense you guys get well fare for life under a different name.

I am guessing, based on the large amount of questions, that some people here expected McConnell to answer SOMETHING. By his lack of interest in answering any question he had shown loud and clear that he doesn't give a crap about the US Military. This is not new to me because I have known for years that McConnell NEVER does ANYTHING for the good of the United States of America, only for himself. He has spent the last 7.5 years obstructing everything, it way past time he retires and lets someone take his place who will do something good for the USA.

The President, with the advice and consent of the Senate appoints Justices. Why did you REFISE to advise, let alone consent to ANY Justice.

That is a CLEAR violation of your Constitutional responsibility.
