Senior NCO Advice Needed. Concealed Carry in uniform off Post.

I recently noticed a Soldier wearing a concealed weapon in uniform off post.

I did a quick search and have not found anything on this..

Don't get me wrong I am all for a well trained armed population, and with the way crime is getting out of control in the area I live, I can't fault the soldier for wanted to protect himself (if thats the reason he is doing so)

Is he/she have a permit for concealed carry? If they have a permit it is legal.

I have never seen any uniform restrictions on concealed carry while in uniform. As long as they have a permit for concealed carry, they should be legal off base. Unfortunately the military does not recognize the permits on base, so on installation, they will have to meet all regulations for transportation of personal weapons on base.

AR190-14 adresses these issues the question I have is, since that member was most likely also a guard or reserve member , WAASH policy says no , there isnt a regualation that specifically stops it from happening but there is a policy memo, done by the TAG . You can request to conceal carry in uniformthrough channels, I do not remember if you can open carry in unform unless you are performing official functions such as transffering weapons

I have a conceal and carry. My C&C is recognized by 32 states. However, Fort Bragg doesnt care. No installation does. You still have to go through the briefings and paperwork for your installation. Off post is off post. If it is a legal permit, doesnt matter your clothes.

Military bases are considered Federal properties..thus subject to Federal laws and regulations. With the current attempts to get Nationwide concealed carry legal this issue will need to be settled
