Seriously, will you be glad when this election is over?

I can't wait for it to be over. There has never been a more contentious campaign. Married couples are splitting up. Americans are at each others throats. Brothers against brothers. I'm going on a Caribbean Cruise shortly after the results are known and I know I'll be coming back to an even more contentious time as the warring sides accept victory and defeat and new battle lines are drawn. Sorry, it won't end November 8th. It will only begin anew

CPT Jack Durish, remember the '60s - and somehow we survived that - although certain problems from the '60s still hurt us today. Like the drug culture and the breakdown of respect for law and order.

Capt Seid Waddell - To be fair, I don't remember much of the 60's, at least not the Hippie part of it. The "real 60's" didn't begin until about 1966, the year I entered the Army. A year at Infantry School, another 13 months in Vietnam, and then almost 5 in Hawaii. It was as though I had fallen off the planet. By the time I returned, it was mostly over.

Capt Seid Waddell - Some of the "problems" of the 60's are holding political offices.Maybe that is why a lot of those problems are still with us.

COL Mikel J. Burroughs This has been the strangest election cycle I have ever seen. I have never seen an election cycle in which over half of the people don't approve of either major party candidate. Regardless of who wins, they will go into office with full knowledge that they do not have a mandate from the people. I will not watch any news coverage the day of the election, or the following day. I will have a glass of burbon, and play video games.

Sgt Steven Thomas - Knob Creek is my favorite. A little Fallout 4 and Knob Creek over ice, election night in a nutshell.

I don't think either of the two care less if they have a mandate or even a majority of those who bother to vote support. The power gathering to the prez's office will just pick up speed and Congress will continue it's slide into irrelevancy
