Service Members: How do I get a copy of my records or anything in my 201 File?

...1059's, MOS Orders, OMPF, DD214, MOB orders, Awards, NCOER, OER's, contracts, anything in a 201 file, etc.

I saw a member who posted a question about how to get a copy of a 1059. It puzzled me a little because I always was able to access any of my records through a number of different sites HRC provided and I figured everyone knew about them. All you had to do was make sure someone scanned it. It was like having a google drive for all your records in addition to your hard copies. If your answer is to go to your first line leader, the VA or the National Archives you need to find other options.

I know I went on the ebenifit site online and got some of the but there are different areas in the Va website you can get it.

I perms and the HRC web site basically are the same. The HRC site has the direct link to the other site. Just gives you a choice weather you are active or reserve component.

In my previous life, I helped thousands of vets/families/representatives secure complete copies of the contents of their 201 file (and sometimes Unit records as well). Short version is ask your local Congressional Office to request for you, and ask for a certified copy of EVERY page (not just what NPRC or VA wants to provide you).

Go to the VA speak with the actual VA Rep. Request an eBenefits account. From then on you can download your Sevice Record any time you want from the comfort of your own home.
