Sex Offender Officers allowed to stay in the Army, while Enlisted quick to get the boot.

How do you feel about the whole double standard for Officers over Enlisted dealing with Sexual Assaults and other Sex Offenses?

I know this was posted previously by MSG Quick, but with the new article about a LTC assigned to SOC-Africa that was found guilty of sexual assault and is being allowed to stay in the service really makes me want to ask the question again. Is there a double standard? It is quite obvious! This Field Grade Officer has been in the service for 18 years and will be allowed to continue to serve and eventually retire, while any Enlisted Soldier regardless of their rank immediately gets processed for separation. Why is the Army favoring Officers? I know that I sure wouldn't want to serve in a formation following him or any other sex offender. What is the difference between an 18 year LTC or a 26 year CSM or 1 year PFC that is a sex offender? In my eyes they are the same. They have to stoop so low to take advantage of or overpower somebody for some self satisfaction? And think about how much respect that Officer will have when his/her Soldiers learn about their leader's history. I know I wouldn't respect that person. That person sure couldn't live by the Army Values, while he/she was busy demoralizing their victim.

The whole double standard doesn't end at sexual assaults or other sexual offenses, I know of many Officers that have been arrested for DUI or some other alcohol related incidence and it has gotten swept under the rug, while Enlisted are quick to get the harshest punishment or processed for separation. Leaders are supposed to set the example, if there is a double standard and Officers are getting away with everything, what is stopping Private Snuffy from following the actions of CPT Turdball? SSG Highspeed can't be there to guide PVT Snuffy in the right direction all the time.
