I know Game of Thrones has been met with it's own fair share of critics, and controversy regarding its use of pretty graphic elements, but I do find it to have some extremely valuable insights into themes like leadership, power, and the human psyche in general.

In season 2, episode 3, I found THIS quote about "power" to be particularly interesting and thought provoking:
