Combine the Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps space assets and make a Space Corps. Yes we need one.

The only real entities going to Space are private companies. Until NASA gets back into gear there is no need. Why have a Space Corps that never leaves the ground?

No- one more service fighting for a limited piece of the budget- hell other than space station, we have no assets to protect form assault or to garrison- so no need for combat arms. That leaves flyboys, who spend more money than you can shake a stick at on futuristic fights, they can't maintain.

MSgt Ken "Airsoldier" Collins-Hardy I would like to see manned missions to Mars. Adequate funding and support are needed for this goal. A separate Space Force would need achievable mission goals along with full funding and support. I think the support and funding would be a very difficult sell.

I don't know that we need an Armed Space Force, at least not at this point. I could see the point of adding a third unarmed branch focused on space science and exploration, similar to how the NOAA Commissioned Corps is utilized.
