Should auto-correct be incorporated into more programs, or eliminated completely? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/should-auto-correct-be-incorporated-into-more-programs-or-eliminated-completely <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>As someone who writes frequently I greatly value the auto-correct feature found on many computer programs and online applications. I have become so accustomed to it that I actually find it somewhat frustrating when I am typing into a program that does not have it. This concerns me slightly; am I slowly becoming less able to spell check for myself? What do you think? Should auto- correct be more wide spread, or do we need to go back to basics? It indicated that there was not a significant change in spelling ability between phonetic spellers with or without use of auto-correct. I don't think it is going to make you worse 1SG Private RallyPoint Member Sun, 23 Nov 2014 03:36:52 -0500 2014-11-23T03:36:52-05:00 Response by CW5 Private RallyPoint Member made Nov 23 at 2014 8:31 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/should-auto-correct-be-incorporated-into-more-programs-or-eliminated-completely?n=338833&urlhash=338833 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Good question, <a class="dark-link bold-link" role="profile-hover" data-qtip-container="body" data-id="313799" data-source-page-controller="question_response_contents" href="/profiles/313799-90a-multifunctional-logistician-91st-td-84th-tc">CPT Private RallyPoint Member</a>, and I know just what you mean. I'll be typing along and misspell a work, but I keep going because I know that auto-correct will take care of it. That's probably not good, especially - as you say - when in a program or app that does not use auto-correct. Then I have to up my game a bit. Especially when you're texting - some of the things that come across is total garbage. It's bad enough that I have to try and figure out what someone is saying when they aren't using auto correct - now add auto correct to the mix and try to un$%^&amp; that. ARG! I depend on it so much i am starting to get lazy about my spelling. PO2 Corey Ferretti Sun, 23 Nov 2014 13:28:11 -0500 2014-11-23T13:28:11-05:00 2014-11-23T03:17:22-05:00
