The stress of reporting to work is weighing heavily on many individuals knowing they are the providers for their families. I think employers should have an Employee Assistance Program made available to employees, to access without fear of reprisal, of dismissal from their jobs.
Should essential employees have access to counseling during this COVID-19 and what is the reason for your position? 2020-07-23T21:36:21-04:00 PO3 Phyllis Maynard 6132862

Persons close to me have expressed fears about their work environments and infecting their families. We got him the help he needed and he finished his 20. I am a big believer that mental health should ALWAYS be available to whoever needs it whenever they need it. The problem with this virus is there is so much disinformation, and people frankly talking out their butts, and it scares people. These programs handle a myriad of issues and COVID-19 is very likely already part of their counseling protocols.
Smaller employers, essential or not, simply may not have monies to fund such programs. Many such employers are eligible for Federal funding/loans; perhaps some of these Federal monies could be used to fund EAP.
