Should I go for MOS 0311 or MOS 0331 in the USMC?

I want a combat MOS, but i don't know if the 0331 operate LMGs or .50 Cal, and i would be an 0331 if i had the chance.

I seem to recall back in my day way back in 1956 all started out as 0311 and moved on from there.My 79 year old memory is not as sharp any more.

That's okay, my father served in Nam, he lost it just a couple months ago. Everybody gets old, though, right? Thank you for your service.

Thunder I'm Old corps.56-60.Armor for the OLD .30/.50 machine guns,BAR,M1 and so on.Have no idea of the weapons used today.Loved to test shoot all of them after repairing them.Went into the USAF later but had to get into another field as they did not have the same weapons I was used to.

My father was 6 in '56.
I was artillery. We have our own MG's we use for defense. Several SAW's, 240G, M2 and MK19. Some people don't know how heavily armed an arty battery is.
What I am saying, look into your other options in the combat arms fields as well.
