Should I go to one of the schools first or go directly to PA school?

Later in my career (5-10 years) I was planning on going to PA school, but a recent talk with my Regimental CSM he said if you have goals in the army you want to pursue them within your first 5 years or you may lose the opportunity. I was planning on attending either flight medic school or dripping a packet to be a medic for the 160th SOAR. I was wondering what some advantages or disadvantages to this decision would be?

I am somewhat in the same position. I am also wanting to go to PA school, but I also want to do a lot more in the military before I apply. On my hit list was a tour through Korea and a special assignment such as recruiter or drill sergeant, but the way I understand it now is that you have to apply before you hit 7 years time in service. If all else fails, I will just go after the service. I am also thinking about just getting out after my second contract to focus completely on my school and then coming back in as a med school applicant or PA grad.

Since this I've talked to a few people and got some insight on what I should do. I've decided to start my prerequisites while I'm still in my first contract and hopefully by the time I reenlist I'll have them all done and drop the packet

Currently I am deployed so I won't be acting on anything immediately. I still have a few more months before I redeploy and come up with a final decision.
