These positions have the opportunity for higher progression, better schooling is available, as well as a chance at broadening assignments. Now I would complain if I had not seen that these positioned were only filled by a certain race and have (in my career) only seen 1 other person (of my color) in that position. I am not naive to say that only one person has ever been to the school and passed. However I have travelled around a bit, and it's awkward when a Soldier ask me why they were passed over by someone and they don't share our ethnicity? You are also violating regulations by not making the complaint known. MPI as far as I can remember is a damn small group, you better have a lot of specifics on how folks were not treated equally, particularly since I have seen CID of almost every color when I was in. Do not let the Unit claim toy are disloyal if you take it over their heads once you gave them a chance to resolve it. You have a duty to the army to report it. As COL Robert Grierson advised, the EO people will want documentation, but you might just talk with them first to get an idea of what they need. There are many "protected classes" beyond race. Almost any characteristic other than being a white, male, under 40, can put one in a protected class. Discrimination may be more widespread than you realize. Get all the evidence that you may have, names, dates, paperwork etc. and sit down with the EO reps to discuss your issues. Make sure you have a solid complaint since many times they damage or end careers.
