Should I request a chapter 5-8 FCP?

I have a record PT test coming up and my NCO mentioned if I think I cant pass it to request a Chapter 5-8. I cant find a whole lot of information about the 5-8. I know I won't pass and will be chaptered, my question is this: is a chapter 5-8 a better option than being chaptered for pt failure? My husband and I are dual military and our third babysitter isn't exactly reliable. Twice in the last week she hasnt been willing to babysit. We cant afford daycare and the CDC has a 6mo waiting list.

I'm sorry, but that is terrible advice.
For starters, your APFT chapter will he done long before your family care plan one is. What he is telling you is some barracks lawyer BS.

How poorly do you think you'll be on the APFT, can you reschedule for a later time, when you may do and possibly pass?

Have you already failed one and this is your 90 days later retake? Have you been working on passing?

How old is your child? If you know there's a six month waiting list get on it. If you can't afford daycare how would you pay for the CDC?

Here's the real question: Do you want to get out? If you want to get out just do the family care plan one. You don't seem like you really want to stay in. If your FCPs aren't working and you want to get out, then that's probably what you do. It seems like it would be easier to get the kid in daycare than unreliable babysitters.

Your NCO seems pretty lazy too. That seems like horrible advice.
