Should I resign my USAF commission, as O-3, and finish my career enlisted?

I've had many problems trying to get back in uniform (fiscal year changes, promotion boards, record corrections, false medical problems, WEATHER…yes, weather.)

I am considering resigning commission, before I am discharged, Sep 2017. Any ramifications?

Asked local senator--over a couple years--with little help. Currently, asking AFPC about such options.

Desperately want to keep military benefits!!

Capt. Sir if the benefits you want to keep you have to do the time. I have no idea how long you have to reach the 20 mark but it could be very well worth it. That is my only advise, the other will have to come from someone else. But Good Luck Sir.

Have you considered moving to another branch as a potential option? If you're looking at the Guard the respective states usually have postings on their websites of part time and full time positions available.

I've heard it's possible for an officer to switch to warrant, is that something you can explore Sir?

I resigned my commission then went back as an enlisted (E-5) to finished my 2 and 3 month time left for retirement after being pass twice in the MAJ board. The Benefits are to be able to retire with CPT retirement pay (higher 36 month pay) and use TA to complete my masters for free without future time obligation.
