If the DOD wants to do something stupid, like force out a prior enlisted officer with all that experience while the world is blowing up around us, then the DOD should have to pay a premium for their stupidity. <br /><br />If the service member in question voluntarily leaves, knowing full well what the commitment time frame was, well that's their choice and they have to deal with the consequences of that decision. <br /><br />I also think those forced out prior to completing their commitment due to injury should be paid at their highest rank achieved, not their enlisted rank. <br /><br />Just my 2cp. I went through it. Also if you held commission for LESS than ten years the SEC of each Branch can reduce 10 to 8 and allow you to retire at 20 years of AFS.<br />The title 10 laws are already in place to allow for this look uo TITLE 10 3911, 3964, 3926 and educate yourself.
