Sexual assault and other forms of abuse have been reported within the past few years in waves, and it may not be the systems fault. Should the individuals being chosen for these special duties be screened more to prevent further flack on the individuals who follow the rules; or is there another solution? There is only so much you can do. You have to do a lot of psych exams to be selected(multiple tests with hundreds of question and a face to face with a shrink). Its like trying to screen for people who wont get DUI's. Are you familiar with the Developmental Special Duty (DSD) process? Today's MTI/MTL has to be vectored through their Command Chief before being placed into any special duty to include PME, AETC Instructor, etc. Minimum rank to be an MTI is E6...not sure about MTL...so I think your question is about 4 years too late.
