Should Service Members, regardless of rank be allowed to take a hiatus to run for a public office?

<p>Interesting concept. </p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Even though I never thought of that, I believe that SM should be afforded that opportunity as long as is one term, that term is not counted toward retirement benefits, they do not use their military service as a basis for their campaign, and, when they come back, they start at the rank they left off.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p>
