Yes, and no depending on your long term goals, SN Greg Wright Yes, as in I intend to seek mining and development rights in Space. And also no, because as species we have to rise above arguing about rights and borders at some point. I think past the atmosphere is a good place to start. Yes, to drive the market and create healthy competition. Then no, because the abundance of wealth would drive the economies of our planet's markets to a tipping point where things would change dramatically. (This might be an opportunity for US)
