We are taxed on Social Security and Medicare as if we received the money, note how your federal and state income tax is based on Gross not Net of Wages.

The US has double taxation on any business income and then it is taxed at an individual level.

When you withdraw Social Security before your 'retirement' date, you will hand back between 1/3 and half your benefit if you have earned income based on the means testing provisions inserted in the 90s.

If you saved all your life and decide to pass your savings to your heirs, you have federal and state level estate taxes due 90 days after your death.

If you don't think we are socialist in denial, then you are really a socialist in denial...
Welcome to the new America!
