Should the members of CHAZ, CHOP, or whatever they are calling themselves today be considered traitors for seceding from the Union?

Just a curiosity question to provoke thought and civil conversation.... A large part of the population regards members of the Confederacy as "traitors" because they left the Union and formed their own Nation with an independent government. Should not the autonomous zone in Seattle be considered the same? They consider themselves no longer subject to US laws and have formed their own border with fences, checkpoints, and are reportedly requiring ID for anyone to enter. Is that not in effect what the Confederacy (in it's base terms) was? A rejection of Federal control and oversight?
As an added bonus...Would the Confederacy still be considered "traitorous" had they been successful in their struggle against the Union?

I find it ironic that everything they created are things they rallied against

I think we should turn off the power supply, trash and sewage removal, and running water to the area.
No doubt, they will come up with Green ways to solve those problems in their sovereign state.

I don't understand why they haven't done that already. If I were Mayor, I'd have cut them off as soon as they said they were no longer part of my jurisdiction.

MSgt Steven Holt, NRP, CCEMT-P The Mayor is a peace loving happy, she called it the summer of love until people were shot. City workers are trying to take back the area an the protesters aren't letting up until their demands are met. I say bring out the fire hoses.
