The scope of the investigation is odd, but likely done to demonstrate transparency. However, I would also say that the composition of Mueller's team is also troublesome. As an investigator myself, I find it highly dubious that Mueller has brought a lot of former Clinton lawyers and Democrat party affiliates on board to the investigation team. Whether they remain impartial or not does not change the appearance that this represents (which is one of biased investigative analysis as opposed to objectivity).

I would think Mueller should have known better; and I doubt the Deputy AG would have thought he would do something like that.

After the past debacles from the use of Special Prosecutors, who ruined a lot of lives without proving very much while spending millions to do it, I'm not a fan of using them. If a prosecutor has enough evidence, he should call for a Federal Grand Jury to look at the evidence. In the past, these investigations tended to become Star Chambers (no pun on Ken Starr intended). So far no one has produced any evidence of any illegal activities, illegal verses attempts to criminalize any supposed contact with any Russian, whether attached to the government or not. What amazes me is that we are investigation every allegation against the current administration when the 600 lb Gorilla in the room is the fact we know that the leaks came for NSA intercepts and the previous Administration was actively spying on the opposition from the FISA warrants. Which do you really think is more of a threat to our Republic?

To date there has been ZERO evidence that the Trump administration has done anything Illegal, there has been Zero criminal acts, and ZERO laws have been broken by Him or his Team. Trumps warnings about digging into his Finances make sense, how far back is this witch hunt going to dig? One year? two years? 10 years? 20? This is what the left want to happen, they want Mueller to dig up anything that even looks remotely off for Trumps entire life so they can try and use it for political gain.

Where was this fervor when HRC sold our Uranium to the Russians for donations to the Clinton foundation for 2.35 Million, what about Obama telling the Russians “particularly with missile defense” “This is my last election … After my election I have more flexibility,”, Where was the issues with Bill Clinton meeting with Lynch privately on the Tarmac? Bill Clinton getting a $500,000 speaking fee for an hour talk at a Russian bank? The Democrats are tied to Russia at every point, even their political philosophy is communist in nature. Liberal media is playing their part as communist state run media for the left. At this point I view the left wing as a joke and anti-America, ANTIFA stands for anti-first, BLM is a hate group no better than the KKK, and all the screaming liberals just keep demanding communism be implemented.

For the record I am a retired federal law enforcement officer who has worked at every level from local to state to federal back to local after my retirement from the federal system where I spent a quarter of century alone in federal law enforcement and to quote Francis Lazarro "Frank" Rizzo, Sr. (October 23, 1920 – July 16, 1991) who held every job on the Philadelphia Police Department from rookie Policeman to Police Commissioner except Policewoman and that was because he flunked the physical “You dammed cops are worse gossips than the old women at the Italian Market and you know too much dirt on everyone!” When come up to Police Week to honor one of our fallen Sisters and Brothers’. You will see my service dog Blackie there playing with the children of fallen Sisters and Brothers they will be cheered a little after what they have gone through from his affection and gentleness. Blackie is a hundred pound American Staffordshire Terrier what you would call a “PIT BULL”! He was rescued by the Virginia State Police from some scum who were trying to turn him into a fighting dog. The only problem I have with him there is people want to adopt him! He spends his time with little children who have lost family members. He plays with them and gives them puppy kisses. The rest of us spend our time exchanging really juicy gossip!
I personally know many of the people involved in this “Russian probe” and I am very amused by the whole thing. I like to point out that I am retired from the federal system where I spent a quarter of century so that you will know I am very well aware of its ins and outs.
As far as the Special Prosecutor goes the Attorney General of the United States is not precluded (For those of you who have never been in law or law enforcement that is a fifty cent word meaning STOP.) from appointing as many Special Prosecutors as he wants!
For the liberals out there I remember Kenneth Winston Starr initially appointed to investigate the suicide death of deputy White House counsel Vince Foster and the Whitewater real estate investments of Bill Clinton. Later expanded the inquiry into numerous areas including an extramarital affair that Bill Clinton had with Monica Lewinsky. After several years of investigation, Starr filed the Starr Report, which alleged that Bill Clinton lied about the existence of the affair during a sworn deposition. The allegation opened the door for the impeachment of Bill Clinton and the five-year suspension of Clinton's law license. The only reason that he was not convicted was that Senator Arlen Specter took pity on him and voted “NOT PROVEN” which is an obscure Scottish law verdict. By the way I also remember how the Clinton supporters attacked Kenneth Winston Starr. Remember what sauce is for the goose is sauce for the gander! Don’t cry about it little liberals the truth is always a bitch!! (Sung to the tune of Don’t Cry for me Argentina) By the way Senator Arlen Specter was my search and seizure instructor many years ago and I always told him he was the best search and seizure lawyer in the country because I never lost a search and seizure case. (Yes, I am that old and I admit it!)

It would seem any investigation will merely be a headhunt due to bias. Muller is a friend of Comey and his team is filled with people who would like nothing more than to discredit the President. I doubt the man or the team are professional enough to conduct a real investigation.

Trump insists that there is no "there" there, and that he and his team are completely innocent. Therefore, he should be welcoming this investigation to get to the bottom of things and clear his name. The fact that instead he has done everything he can to delay and deflect the investigation, and attack the credibility of the investigators before he has seen any result speaks volumes. He is acting exactly as a guilty party would act. Why on earth would an innocent president feel the need to tweet out about the president's pardon authority? If he is looking forward to the investigation uncovering the truth, why is he fighting it at every turn?

It's probably time to put a "defined, limited scope" provision on the charter of the investigation and a NO SHIT end date or this will go on forever and ever and ever and get wider and wider and wider without end. Mueller has stepped way over why he was supposed to legally be allowed to do. Even doing this he has not found one piece of evidence against President Trump in one year of investigation. This witch hunt needs to stop mainly due to the cost and finding out that his lead investigator has done everything he can do to support Hillary and he has a hatred of Trump. Second his whole investigation team are Democrats, former individuals who have supported Hillary of other Democrats in Congress through money or volunteer. The lead investigators girlfriend works for the company who wrote the fake transcript against Trump and his transition team. Impartiality has been misplaced along with justice and common sense all in the name of one party against another. I say no more money for this investigation. There are too many investigators who have interfered broken laws, helped Obama, Clinton and many other to break the laws and so far have no repercussions. We would be in jail if we did what Clinton and Obama have done that his investigation has found during this so called investigation.
