Should there be RallyPoint email accounts?

I have found this to be a great site so far. I have had great conversations about employment and military issues. I know a few military members and veterans on RP use it as a networking tool and have put this community on resume. Is it at all possible to have a RP email address. Like [login to see] . If this became an option would you be willing to pay a few dollars a month to maintain the site? and Would you change your email to the RP email? I know I have been using Gmail for about 8 years now but would switch it up in a heartbeat.

I can't see a single reason to get yet another email account...already work off of three or four.

I already have 4 email accounts and I only regularly check 2 of them. If you want to get in contact with someone from rally point you can use the messages feature in the toolbar.

Thank you but I am fully aware of how to contact people on RP. This would be to use as a more professional email account. A lot of employers use Microsoft just as we do in the Army. It’s a business based and professional email account. Look at @live accounts. All set up for gamers not business. So I guess what I’m getting at is, if people are using RP on a resume and for employment networking, would it be more beneficial to them to have an email backed by a military/veteran site rather than yahoo, Gmail, or live accounts. I think it would. I look at some emails I get and don’t even read them because of stupid names.( [login to see] ) If we have veterans and current military members looking for employment and can provide them with the tools to succeed let’s do so. After reading a few of the comments I see soldiers cannot take all topics seriously so let’s use this one to try and benefit our veterans.

It sounds like there's a high percentage of warriors accessing their gmail, yahoo, etc through the different websites instead of linking them all to one mail application or program, such as Outlook (on PCs/Mac) or Mail (on Mac) or about 3-4 other even better mail applications (Thunderbird, Postbox, etc) that would allow the user to send / receive mail from many different accounts all from one application.

A lot of you are taking away from the main post and making it personal. The post was about how we can help our current military members and veterans. NOT about how many email addresses you already have and how you cannot or don't want to manage another. No one cares. So let's post on the topic. I'll start it again by posting this.

SSG Stephenson, to answer the specific questions in your post: is it possible? Yes. Would I be willing to pay? No, frankly there are too many free options so why pay? Would I change my email to an RP email? No, but I would (if offered for free) link my RP email to my Outlook account for easier management.

I see no reason for an emaol account. Additionally why would I wasnt to pay for an email acount when I already have multiple free accounts?

If we need the ability of private “speedy” internal mail, use the Msg button.
It works just as well, free, and there is an indicator that you have a new Msg. waiting.
