Are we really that far gone that debate is over? I am all for change for pollution purposes because some cities do need help and President Obama nor Jay Carney are not experts in any case.

Firing a person for that is a sign of the incredible ignorance proferred by so-called experts. Just like Immigration, Planned Parenthood, Healthcare, ISIS, Terrorism, etc, it is always an emergency and that Republicans are blocking necessary change.

What is your take? This site is one of the leading sources in the world and time to debate is not over!

I find it very disconcerting that no one asks questions but the site I gave shows plenty of examples of freedom of speech. A forecaster has to be right, at least some of the time, but not climatologists per se. Just go along with the dictums of the IPCC and you face very little recrimination, save for your dignity and pursuit of what is right.

There is this little thing called the Constitution and one of the articles protect free speech, as I recall.

Yes, and it seems that politicians are getting into the business of climate change for profit and they will brook not dissent. Funny how the great scientists did just that. They challenged convention and ultimately benefited many people. Now, the issue is not how it benefits others, but self.

I've been a Meteorologist for a very long time and one does not acquiesce to opinions when lives are at stake. MCPO Roger Collins . Thanks for your participating and thanks for your service.

People should not be fired for expressing their opinions.

COL Jean (John) F. B. That is the conundrum here, to have an opinion that potentially deviates from lazy assertions. I had a Colonel in the Air Force who did not like my forecast while I was stationed at Ramstein. He stated that I was not flexible, and I said, with all due respect, that is not what I am paid to do. People's lives are at stake.

Later that evening, we were hit with 88kt winds of the ramp where C-141's, C,130s and C-5s were situated. CINCMAC talked to my Commander and lauded my efforts as one of the best reviews he had seen in recent memory. I took the initative to not go with the status quo and because of that I have a lot of respect in Aviation forecasts and with radio and auto racing.

I am constantly studying the field of weather and I am pretty sure that I know more about current climatology than many climatologists. It is about being right, rather than appeasing someone's ego

PO1 Thomas Jenkins - A couple of things, first completing an Aerographer's Mate program, does not make one a Meteorologist. Two, economic issues, do play a part, but Meteorology is also a science. Investigating events, and assessing whether a storm's profile meets certain speed parameters, based upon a storms damage to structures. (in short), among other things.
