I think "Vaping" is an excellent alternative to smoking. Even if there are risks, they are orders of magnitude less than smoking.

Who cares if one vapes, cigarettes will always be worse; it's annoying they want to control every form of alternatives.
I don't smoke, but if Jonny wants to blow vape clouds, why is that anyone's decision?

They injected us with untested drugs, and didn't give a dmn about our opinion. So I'll voice mine now on this issue even tho I don't cape myself I say until they prove it harmful to others around you, and it's legal then it should be like alcohol, tattoos, and sun burns none of their business till effects your health and readiness.

Well, let's see should we make posting on social sites because we don't have accurate data as to its effect?

I don't believe anything should be illegal unless we have factual data to show it is a harm to others.

Unfortunately there is always a study that shows whatever the person who paid for the study wants it to show.

Since smoking is legal, why wouldn't vaping be legal? You can put a fistful of nicotine and dip directly in your mouth but can't vape? Whatever the policy, it needs to be consistent.

My wife's a respiratory therapist who notes an increase in younger adults who vape with respiratory problems, more frequently aggravating the baseline problem they didn't know they had. Lost in the "not enough study" rhetoric is the absence of choice of the nonvaper who doesn't want the stuff around them due to sensitive respiratory issues or just don't want it around them for whatever reason. Vaping is in the "do we or don't we netherworld". People want studies so they can have a foundation. Absent that, whatever position you take casts you in the snob category. I will say I take issue with those who insist it's not a problem, hence to hell with anyone else. Not a good indicator of future leader material.

That said, I do remember many a time aboard ship when I really wanted everyone to get mandatory doses of Beano.

Freedom to vape is fine. However, personally I believe it is just as bad or worse than smoking or dipping. My Son brought it in my house and it was met with my sledgehammer.

At least with the Vapers (or whatever you call those people) I don't have to smell like someone's ashtray for the rest of the day just because I walked past them. I'll take Vaping any day for that reason alone.

If bob want to vape (as long as he's in a designated smoking area), then let bob vape.

The issue with not just this topic, but the "should we allow xyz to happen?" is currently what's doing more harm than good in our country.

You are allowed to do whatever you want unless deemed illegal by lawmakers or army regulations.

Vaping has help many of my BBs. Quit tobacco, not the safest alternative. I'll agree, but until something proves it worse, it IS an alternative

It's technically safer than smoking, I think, so no it shouldn't be illegal. Plus no open flame is a plus which means within 50ft of a vic is ok. Right?

I think the attempt to ban vaping actually has very little to do with vaping. People have tried to ban smoking in the past and failed, mostly because it is such a high source of revenue for AAFES. however, if they can get vaping banned while it is still in its infancy, they can attempt to use the fact that they are similar to get smoking removed as well.

I detest smoking, but why should this be outlawed? Just use the same restrictions that are in place for actual smokers. IMO, due to the dangers created by smoking, it should be banned, but we know what happens with prohibition on a legal basis.
