Should we remove combat patches to be sensitive to those who don't have them?

"(Unit Name withheld) BCT ordered to remove combat patches during training at Fort NoMatter so the ones without them don't get hurt feelings.
Reason? "The unit just returned from Afghanistan and almost everyone has a patch but the large influx of new soldiers are E1 and E2s that have never deployed and they are saying they are left out because they don't have a patch."

Wow so how the pvts feel is now an issue, well just to make them feel better we take away something that everyone who deployed had earned. Stop the bullshit and tell them if they have an issue with it they will get their chance to earn it.

While we're at it I had a SFC yell at me a lot once, can we also remove rank so we are all equals? I always wanted to call my SGM Jim cuz I viewed him more as a buddy than a boss.

For those wanting a combat patch they must do that most of us did: volunteer for overseas' duty in a combat environment. Such Soldiers that bemoan the absence of a combat patch get no sympathy from me as they echo the same feelings of their counterparts in the liberal, political civilian world.

A handful of sailors from my company did the MCMAP thing while we were in Iraq and earned the tan belt. They were not allowed to wear them on their Navy digie uniforms. That makes sense. Different service, wrong uniform.
Removing the combat patches is a whole different animal. This attitude reminds me of the crap I saw in my day like Stress Cards and boot camp recruits not having to run in boots.

This is (headshaking). In the meantime the fruit salad on our dress uniforms gets ever larger.
