Should we remove combat patches to be sensitive to those who don't have them?

"(Unit Name withheld) BCT ordered to remove combat patches during training at Fort NoMatter so the ones without them don't get hurt feelings.
Reason? "The unit just returned from Afghanistan and almost everyone has a patch but the large influx of new soldiers are E1 and E2s that have never deployed and they are saying they are left out because they don't have a patch."

I had a 1sg tell me that I couldn’t wear my Combat patch of another unit other than the one i was with. I told he hell no I wasn’t changing it. I deployed with the Special Ops and I have 3 Combat patch’s with them and I was proud of it but I wasn’t taking it off!!

This participation trophy thing is getting way out of hand. The combat patch is a way that Soldiers can show pride in the unit they deployed with, but private wants to cry like a baby because he gets called "slick." At some point, are we going to make people who have 6 or more rows of awards on their chest in Blues reduce it to their favorite 4 rows of awards because private only has one row and it makes them feel inferior? I need this generation to get tougher, as the mentally portion of "physically and mentally tough" seems to be just gone. I blame TRADOC for this. Private should have been hardened before they came to their units.

No you should not. You earned them, you should wear them with pride and honor. Their time will come then they will have the honor to wear one too. I personally looked up to the guys wearing them and took what they taught seriously. They were my lead NCO'S and i respected them.

How about stop indoctrinating Cultural Marxism's "Toxic Masculinity" within our society here in the United States!

Using that same logic, remove ALL awards from the uniform, take down all certificates and awards from the walls.....let's just go ahead and remove rank too.
Let's ALL be equal and let everyone have the same pay, the same authority, the same scores, the same everything.
Glad I'm retired, I would definitely be disciplined for not removing my patch. If the regulation authorizes it, the Commander can't override the uniform regulation and design his own regulations regarding uniform wear.
What a bunch of whiny, crybaby losers. Suck it up POS!

Everything is earned.. If you earned it then you should proudly display it.. No worries to those who do not have combat experience... The call will come. Just be ready.... (Rich people's bank accounts hurt my feelings.. They should get get rid of it because it hurts my feelings AND i feel left out..)...

Everything is earned... Those who have earned should not be punished for those who haven't... EX:.(Rich people's massive accounts hurt my feelings therefore they must get rid of it to make me feel better?)

That's like asking someone not to wear personal awards, If that command actually sanctioned that order, then they are pieces of shit.

The soldiers recently returning from deployment are NOT responsible for the feelings of these younger/newer soldiers just arriving at the unit. If they want one, there are ample opportunities to either deploy with their unit, ask to tack on to another sister unit headed downrange, or go on a WIAS tasker. These returning soldiers earned their right side patches and should be allowed to wear them. Their unit leadership should understand this and not be putting out stupid policies like this.

Fake issue made up to rail on the younger generation. That's why the question says the order was issued by Major Anonymous at Fort Imaginary. Stop baiting, you're triggering old people.
