Should individuals like this be forced to waste the time, and funding over a PFC that wants to have a career and wants the opportunity? *This is just a hypothetical* Don't attack the messenger. Should WLC be mandatory? 2014-01-04T22:14:49-05:00 SPC Christopher Smith 32801 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>If a soldier is pretty dead set on only doing their initial four years and ETSing, with no interest in making E-5 before they get out. Reason being once they are at or have completed WLC, they have an entirely different picture of what and NCO and leadership is all about in the scheme of things and the big picture, it is never a waste for teaching and mentoring a potential future leader, even if they state they are not staying in after their initial terms, that 3-4 years is a long time before it actually comes to completion. Yes. Even if they do not look at making the Military a career AND it should be brought back up to 30 days. Here’s the reasons: WLC can and will give the Soldier the building blocks for Research, Planning, Implementing, Communication and Teaching/Training. (Drill Sergeants and or Small Group Leaders correct me if I’m wrong please) But the Soldiers still have to give four (4) classes to their peers? Correct? And by completing WLC and putting this on a resume, you now have shown your perspective employer you do possess better skills that other applicants. If the Soldier fails the course due to a non interest, then the other route is the follow-up (due to the negative 1059) counseling’s, and send him/her on their way into the civilian world.</p> Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 5 at 2014 11:46 AM 2014-01-05T11:46:17-05:00 2014-01-05T11:46:17-05:00 SPC Christopher Smith 1051108 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Seeing how after two years this post caught someones eye, lets see if we can get it back out for some of the newer people.
