It's going to take getting good qualified and strong former service-members into those positions to be that influence though.Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 7 at 2014 11:40 PM2014-10-07T23:40:53-04:002014-10-07T23:40:53-04:00CW5 Private RallyPoint Member269799

Great post, SSgt Private RallyPoint Member! You got me to watch a TED Talk by Simon Sinek. I received his book "Start with Why" in the mail today.

In the video he mentions the environment, and I think that is obviously the key difference between the business world and the military. In the military - even in garrison - it's theoretically about life and death. In a deployed environment, it IS ABSOLUTELY about life and death.

In the corporate world, it's not about life and death. It might be about keeping your job or losing your job, but, as serious as that may be, it pales (in a BIG way) when compared to life and death.Response by CW5 Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 8 at 2014 5:40 PM2014-10-08T17:40:56-04:002014-10-08T17:40:56-04:002014-10-07T21:17:59-04:00
